This is from your father. I’m glad your experience with Pete Rose was positive. Don’t forget, you paid for his autograph and therefore, Pete was probably on his best behavior. I, on the other hand, worked for a sports book in Las Vegas, and met Pete Rose as a race and sports ticket writer, and saw another side of him, gambling problem, etc. I agree, without a doubt, that he was one of the greatest hitters in baseball history, but due to his gambling problems in the past, I would not submit him to be to the Hall of Fame. With what’s going on in today’s drug related situation, in the future it will be difficult to submit anyone without an asterisk next to his name.
