As a Boston fan, I always believed there was no curse. Good pitching and coaching was always the problem here.

The Mets just need to put together a staff with 3 excellent starters and not a bunch of old broken parts. They can't continue to go after guys who are past their prime or injury prone...Glavine and Pedro come to mind. The Red Sox trap was always grabbing the best free agent available instead of waiting for the right year in which a true #1 is available. I feel the Mets have fallen into this trap as of late. Once they pick up that second #1, instead of the #1 guy available on the FA market, they will have something. Is it the Mets and not the Sox that now have Yankee envy? Just a thought!

Are we nuts in New England? Absolutely! We had so many disappointments and no second team (s) to fall back on. Plus, what sane group of people dumps tea in a harbor & drives the streets in boats? :-)

Flip cars? I don't believe those were even native Bostonian's / real fans. Just college students looking for a simple excuse to justify violence. My bet is that we will see that in Tampa or Philly in a few days!

Peace, from a place that still can't believe and fully enjoy what it's sports teams have been able to do over the last few years!

"How many other teams’ fans get so suicidal when they fall short?"

Red Sox & Patriots fans riot and flip cars when their teams lose.

Then again, they riot and flip cars when their teams win. So maybe New Englanders are just always suicidal.

I can agree with you about the Mets because we have come to expect too much and this team is a microcosim of what is happening to our country with excess greed and expectations running wild.
